The project involved the proof-checking of the structural steel design for the superstructure of the Exhibition Hall under construction at the Chennai Trade Centre. A comprehensive review was conducted, including the design basis report, GAD drawings, and STAAD.Pro model, to verify the adequacy of the steel structure, which includes arched rafters, moment connections, and bracings. The design was checked for compliance with applicable codes and standards, ensuring structural integrity and safety. The deliverables included a detailed proof-checking report and recommendations for necessary modifications to enhance the hall’s durability and compliance with relevant codes.
