The project proposes the restoration of the 16-acre Vaithanthangal Waterbody through desilting, excavation, bund strengthening, eco - sensitive stabilization, surplus weir construction, drainage improvements, and afforestation. Supported by topographic surveys, hydrological studies, and water quality planning, the project aims to restore the pond’s original capacity for drinking water security, stormwater regulation, groundwater recharge, and biodiversity revival. CUBE prepared the DPR through field surveys, drone based mapping, hydrological modelling, and sustainable design solutions for hydraulic structures. The proposed initiative delivers improved storage, enhanced flood resilience, strengthened recharge potential, and revived green cover and biodiversity.
