Structural Design Consultancy and Vetting Services for Reconstruction of Dilapidated Tenements, East Cemetery Road Scheme, TNUHDB Division-II
The TNUHDB project involves the reconstruction of 1005 multistorey tenements under the East Cemetery Road Scheme in Tondiarpet, Chennai, as the existing buildings were deemed unsafe by the technical committee. The scope includes technology selection, construction cost analysis, and complete design engineering for the proposed reconstruction. Due to the densely built environment and narrow streets, the 'Precast Concrete Construction System – Precast Components Assembled at Site' was chosen after evaluating six alternative technologies. This method was selected for its efficiency in dealing with the site's constraints, ensuring a practical and cost-effective solution for mass housing.
