The project involved a comprehensive structural assessment and retrofitting study for the Delayed Coker Unit (DCU) at CPCL Refinery in Chennai, focusing on isolating the bridge crane support from the Coker structure. A multi-disciplinary approach was adopted, including field studies, vibration analysis, and a review of as-built drawings to develop design recommendations. The project ensured operational stability and safety, enhancing refinery efficiency and contributing to India’s energy security. Completed within a tight 6-month timeline, it addressed complex structural concerns and introduced innovative retrofitting solutions.
