This project is very special as CUBE has to advice the retrofitting/repair (R&R) measure to be adopt for the Tirutteni Arunghulam site belongs to Kancheepuram division, which CUBE only audited as a TPQMA agency, & validated the Quality deflecting parameters adopted by the execution agency then. Tamil Nadu Urban Habitat Development Board [TNUHDB] vide Letter No. TNUHDB/SQC/2417/2022 dated 28 February 2022, has entrusted Centre for Urbanization, Buildings & Environment [CUBE] with the quality assessment of the ongoing Arungulam Scheme Phase I - in Thiruttani at Thiruvallur District. During CUBE inspection of the project site on 02, 03 March & 19 April 2022, the quality of construction in terms of documentation maintenance, material and workmanship aspects were checked and the detailed outcome of the inspection was submitted as a “Quality Assessment Report on 31 May 2022. Based on the above Report, TNUHDB requested CUBE for Quantification of defects, Rectification Methodology and Supervision of the Rectification, etc as per Letter No. TNUHDB letter No.889/DB/TVL DIV/TNUHDB/2020, dated 25 June 2022.
As directed by TNUHDB, CUBE conducted a detailed defect assessment from 14 July 2022 to 26 July 2022 and suggested suitable rectification methodology for all assessed defects & supervised the rectification during 5 September 2022 to 22 September 2022. The Report covers the Rectification methodology and the corresponding Rectifications carried out at site.
